Café POS
Café POS for small cafés
KalasOS is a café POS that runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or PC. Take counter orders, let guests order from a kiosk, record cash or QR payments, and send every ticket to the bar or kitchen screen. Starter is free for one location.
What slows a small café down
- Orders written on paper and read out to the bar.
- A queue at the counter while one person takes orders and payment.
- Menu or price changes that reach one screen but not another.
How KalasOS handles it
- Counter service mode: every order gets its own check, with no tables to manage.
- A self-order kiosk on a tablet takes orders while staff make drinks.
- Pay-first at the cashier by cash or QR before an order is made, if you want it.
- Each order goes to the bar or kitchen display, item by item.
- Change a menu item or price once; the kiosk, POS and kitchen use the same menu.
Which plan fits
Starter is free for one café location and includes the POS and the kiosk. Growth (USD 150/year) adds up to 3 locations and a custom domain. Premium (USD 250/year) adds unlimited locations and your own menu photo uploads.
What you need
Kiosk, waiter, cashier and kitchen screens all need a connection. Keep a mobile hotspot as backup.

| Phone, tablet or PC | Required | Any device with a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. |

| Cash drawer | Not supported | No cash drawer connection. |
| Direct thermal printing (ESC/POS) | Not supported | Printing goes through the browser, not a printer driver. |
Questions
Does KalasOS work for a café with no table service?
Yes. Turn on counter service for the location, and every order gets its own check with no table. Guests can order at the counter or the kiosk.
What do I need to start?
An internet connection and a phone, tablet or PC with a recent browser. A printer is optional; bills and kitchen tickets print as PDFs from the browser.
Can customers pay by QR?
Staff record each payment as cash or QR, or a split of both. QR means your venue's own static payment QR; KalasOS records the payment but is not connected to any wallet or bank.
Does it work without internet?
No. KalasOS needs an internet connection on every screen. If it drops, screens keep what they last loaded, but new orders and status changes fail until it returns. Keep a mobile hotspot ready as a backup.
Is it really free for one café?
Yes. Starter is free for one location with no time limit, and signup does not ask for a card.
