Restaurant and café POS

Restaurant POS and café POS in your browser

KalasOS is a browser-based POS for restaurants and cafés. Waiters and cashiers work from one live order stream: every round goes to the kitchen display, and bills include your VAT and service charge. It runs on the phones, tablets and PCs you already have, and Starter is free for one location.

Checks, rounds and items

  • A check groups everything a table or a takeaway order will pay for.
  • Each order the kiosk or a waiter confirms becomes a round on that check.
  • Every item moves on its own: pending, preparing, ready, served, billed.
  • Staff can cancel an item only with a reason, and KalasOS records who did it and when.

Taking payment

  • Cashiers see a live queue of open checks and pay-first orders.
  • Record cash, QR or a split of both on one bill.
  • Split a table's items across several checks when guests pay separately. Turn it on per location.
  • A repeated or double-clicked payment is refused instead of charged twice.

Bills, tax and records

  • Set a VAT rate and a service charge per location; both are added to the bill.
  • Bills print as PDFs for 80 mm or 58 mm receipt paper, with your PAN and VAT numbers and a sequential bill number.
  • Prices show in your venue's currency, such as NPR or USD.
  • Export your menu and your sales reports as CSV files.

Questions

Can KalasOS split a bill?

Yes. Turn on split billing for a location, and a waiter or manager can move a table's items onto separate checks. Each check is then billed and paid on its own, by cash, QR or both.

Which payment methods can staff record?

Cash and QR, or a split of the two on one bill. QR means a static payment QR at your venue; KalasOS records the payment but is not connected to any wallet or bank. Card terminals are not supported.

Does the POS add VAT and service charge?

Yes. Each location has its own VAT rate and service charge, and both are added to the bill. Your PAN and VAT numbers can print on bills. KalasOS does not connect to Nepal's IRD billing system (CBMS).

Can I print bills?

Yes. Bills open as PDFs sized for 80 mm or 58 mm receipt paper, and you print them from the browser's print dialog. Reprints are marked as duplicate copies. Nepali text currently prints as question marks.

How much does the POS cost?

Starter is free for one location. Growth is USD 150/year (NPR 15,000/year in Nepal) and Premium is USD 250/year (NPR 25,000/year). Every plan includes the POS and the kiosk.
